We hired a 6 seater limo to pick us up at 1:30AM after our wedding reception and drive us to the hotel. To our unpleasant surprise Time Limo sent a 50 passenger party bus which was waiting for us at the end of the night. When I asked where our limo was the driver explained that our trip fell between 2 trips with the party bus so they scheduled us in-between. He also had to hurry because his next pick-up was at 2:15AM. So Time Limo gave us a totally inappropriate vehicle because it was convenient for them. And to make matters worse, even though we paid for an hour, the driver raced to our hotel to stay on schedule for his 2:15 pick-up. Felt like a bait and switch. But that wasn't all. For our wedding day my wife wanted to use one of the vintage limousines from Time Limousine. A 1970 Rolls. The Rolls was clean and looked in very good condition. They tied a red bow on the hood. Nice touch. A driver with a different limo company we also used that day (PhatCat) went out of his way to give us a great experience. The Time driver did nothing to make the experience special. He was quiet, but competent other than the fact the cars windows were completely fogged.
Turns out the defog system in the Rolls barely worked. So all the windows were fogged even though it was about 10 degrees. It was rather annoying. The only way to clear them was to wipe them with our hands. When we requested music the driver told us there was no radio or CD. Time limo was not at all upfront about these problems with their car when we booked about these issues. I feel their product did not live up to the advertisement and they should have warned us.
Naturally I called and complained. The manager, Paul, told me there was no problem with the Rolls, that it is an older car an we should expect the defog to be slow. No, actually it is your company's job to tell us! (There is a difference between slow and non-existant. Second, the driver was just sitting in the car with windows fogged. Maybe, he could get up and wipe them down so we don't have to!)The manager also insisted over the phone there was a radio and CD player in the car even though his driver told us there was not. One of them doesn't know what he is talking about. I don't know which one.
With the party bus the manager acknowledged they did us a wrong.
Unfortunately, in terms of restitution, they did not offer enough. not charging us for the party bus I'd say was the bare minimum. Sfter a 20 minute phone call he offered a 50% discount on the party bus ride saying, "well we did drive you home." Yes, but not in the vehicle I booked an in something totally inappropriate! Then he raised that offer to $85 dollars off the party bus. Then the offer went back to %50 off the party bus but he threw in one free airport transfer.
An overall very bad experience. We would never use Time Limo again.
A basic tenant of business is to deliver what your promise. Time Limo needs to learn this while they still have clients.
